Code of Behaviour

Our Behaviour System Procedures:

High Street Primary School is a safe environment where all can teach and learn in a happy atmosphere. All those involved with our school show respect and consideration for others.  The school property and the property of those within school are looked after.  Everyone in Winsford High Street Primary School takes responsibility for making our school a happy place in which to work and learn. 

Our Golden Rules:

  • Be gentle and avoid hurting others.
  • Be kind and helpful, and think about the feelings of others.
  • Be honest.
  • Work hard and make the most of our time.
  • Look after our property and the property of others.
  • Listen carefully to people and follow instructions first time.

   

Our Behaviour Code:

Consequence

You break a golden rule

  • First verbal warning
  • Your class teacher will explain which golden rule you have broken & remind you of what will happen if you continue to choose not to follow this rule

You Ignore a warning

  • Second verbal warning
  • Move your peg to GREEN
  • Your class teacher will explain which golden rule you have broken & remind you of what will happen if you continue to choose not to follow this rule

You continue to ignore warnings

  • Third verbal warning
  • Move your peg to YELLOW
  • Your class teacher will explain which golden rule you have broken & remind you of what will happen if you continue to choose not to follow this rule
  • Your class teacher will remove you into another classroom for 5 minutes ‘time out’ to think about the choices that you have made and how you can improve your behaviour when you return to class

You return to class & continue to choose not to follow our golden rules

 

  •  Move your peg to RED
  • Your class teacher will explain which golden rule you have broken
  • You will spend your next available lunchtime in the Reflection Room to reflect on the choices that you have made

You still continue to choose not to follow our golden rules

 

 

  • Your class teacher will remove you into another classroom for the remainder of the lesson
  • You will be expected to complete your work during this time
  • Your class teacher may send you to see Mr Joule
  • Your class teacher may contact your parents for a meeting about your behaviour

Where a more serious incident occurs or where multiple rules are broken at once, the teacher will move the peg without use of a verbal warning and explain which rules you have broken.
