Co-opted Governor: Mike Whitaker

I have been a governor at high street for 16 years or so, and this is my second stint as Chair.

My education background is extensive, having taught in Winsford, Sandbach, and Ellesmere Port schools. I know that I have taught some of you and some of your parents! I have also worked for Chester and Edge Hill Universities. Outside of school I enjoy travel, walking, watching most sport live and on T.V., music, theatre, reading and enjoying our families (not necessarily in that order!).

I am married to Jane, also a former teacher and we have two children, Chris and Rachel, and four grandchildren. You may have seen me dropping off and picking up one of them, Lucy, in Year 2.

I am proud to be associated with our school, applaud your wisdom in choosing High Street for your children and appreciate and value your continued support. I will wear my governor badge in future: please say hello!

I look forward to seeing you at forthcoming school events as well as on the playground.

Take care, stay safe and best regards.

Mike

Co-opted Governor: Christine Rose

I have taught in Winsford for 42 years, and for 33 of them I have worked at Winsford High Street Community Primary School. You could say that the school has been my passion and I support the school with my vast wealth of experience.  Since my retirement 7 years ago I have been the Community Governor at this school. I attend the full Governor meetings as well as Chairing the the Environment committee and being a member of the Resources Committee.

As Safeguarding Governor I take my role very seriously. I regularly attend the Base (Early Years) and Curriculum (Languages) meetings held each week. As a very hands-on Governor I help with the new Nursery and support the school on educational visits and concerts etc. I also represent the school at the WEP Lead Governor meetings and I am committed to furthering my own knowledge by attending Governor courses and conferences.
