Sunflowers, by Miss Williams

Date: 18th Jul 2017 @ 7:31pm

In Science this half term, we have been investigating plants and trees and using our observation skills to draw and label the different parts. As part of our learning, we planted our own seeds and observed their growth. The children loved planting the original seeds and are still talking about them now. Thank you for sharing your photographs of the sunflowers at home, keep them coming!

Mathmagicians!, by Miss Williams

Date: 23rd Jun 2017 @ 12:46pm

Y1 have had lots of fun today making potions in maths. This week we have been learning about capacity and today we finished off by making weird and wonderful potions. We had to follow the instructions and measure out the correct amount of each ingrediant.

The children have loved this topic and today's lesson especially. Follow us on twitter @Y1HiStPrimary to see more of our learning as it takes place.

Year 1 Aboriginal Art , by Miss Williams

Date: 21st May 2017 @ 5:26pm

In year 1, we have been busy creating our own Aboriginal art work. First of all we studied and discussed Aboriginal art work and picked out the shapes and colours we liked best. Then we chose the materials that we needed to create the small dots. We really enjoyed painting using different techniques and we shared our finished art work in our sharing assesmbly on Friday.
