Dear Parents

Harvest

A huge well done to our Year 1 and Year 2 children who delivered a fantastic assembly to their family members last week at St Andrews Church. We had so many compliments from both family members and the church members after we had finished our assembly. The children were buzzing!!

Parents Evening

It was lovely to see all our parents and carers at parents evening this week, thank you for coming to speak with your child’s class teacher. Also well done to the School Council who did an amazing job directing parents to different year groups on both nights!

Aldi Vouchers:

Thank you to all the parents and carers that have so far sent in an Aldi stickers- we have now completed 2 sportsperson charts to enter the £20,000 draw with the stickers collected. Please continue to send stickers in with your child as it gives us a chance of winning some money for our school.

Netball

Our Y6 netball team represented our school on Wednesday last week at the Academy and won all of their games - Well done to everyone who took part!

Tag Rugby

Our Tag Rugby team took part in a competition at Winnington Rugby Club on Wednesday this week and performed very well and won some matches. Their behaviour and attitude was complimented by the organisers of the competitions - Well done - we are always pleased to hear how well our children represent our school!!

Football

Well done to the Y5/6 girl’s football team who tried their very best and were a credit to our school when they played at the Academy last night.

Our Y3/4 girl’s football team also represented us this week and they were runners up in their tournament- Well done to everyone who took part!

Helmets whilst riding Scooters/ Bikes

Last week we had a call from a member of the public who had witnessed one of our children weaving in and out of cars on Townfields Lane/ Dene Drive on their scooter- please reinforce with your children how to be safe on the roads when not at school.

Also a reminder: that children riding to school on either scooters or bikes must wear a helmet in accordance with the Local Authority guidelines. In addition, children should dismount and push their bikes / scooters from the school gate to the storage area. Sadly any child who doesn’t comply with the aforementioned will receive a ban from coming to school on their bike / scooter.

Remembrance Day

Poppies will be on sale in school time along with zip pulls (50p minimum donation), reflectors (50p minimum donation), snap bands (£1.50 minimum donation) and silicon wristbands (£1.00 minimum donation) during the first 2 weeks back after half term. Our school councillors will be selling these to raise money for The Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.

Half term holidays

I can’t believe that we have been in school for 8 weeks now and the first half of term has gone so quickly. We have been so amazed by the work that has been produced by the children and how they have grown in confidence, since starting in their new classes. We hope you all have a wonderful half term holiday and don’t forget, we are all back to school on Monday 4th November at 8.50am. Mr Joule will be coming back after half term on a phased return after advice from his doctor and I know how excited the children will be to hear this, as I saw how excited they were when they saw him in school this last week for a few hours, so it’s a welcome return for him from children and staff alike.
