Dear Parents

Remembrance Day

A special thank you to the Y6 classes who led our Remembrance assembly on Monday of this week for the children in our school. The children informed us about some very emotive things and wrote a range of fabulous poems about a “Life without War”. Thank you for reading so eloquently Y6!

Our School Councillors also did a wonderful job of selling our poppy merchandise throughout this week and last week and we were able to raise a staggering £515.00 that was sent to the Royal British Legion. Thank you for your support with this.

Football

Well done to the Y5/6 boy’s football team who tried their best and were a credit to our school, when they played at the Academy on Wednesday night. Both teams played brilliantly and only lost 1 game each. We are awaiting the results to see where we are in the Y5/6 league, so watch this space!

PTA Disco

Thank you to the PTA who organised and ran our November Friendship Disco. All the children had a fantastic time and enjoyed themselves. It was lovely to see so many children having a dance and making new friendships.

Children in Need

The children looked amazing today dressed in their non-uniform and bright yellow coloured clothes for Children in Need and World Mental Health Day. The school council gave out prizes to the children who had the best yellow clothes- so if your child has come home with a bag of Haribo’s- this is because the school council deemed them the best dressed in their age group. Well done to all concerned!

Our winners and runners up were:

Book Fair Coffee Morning

Our travelling Book Fair will be in school from today and will be open after school from 3.15pm until 3.45pm each day until Wednesday 20th November. If parents wish to send in a book order in an envelope with the appropriate monies we can also accommodate that if you’re unable to visit the fair.

We are also hosting a coffee morning for parents to come and look at the books on Wednesday 20th November from 8.40am until 9.30am, where parents will be able to browse the books with their children whilst having a cup of coffee.

Open Evening

We are holding an Open Evening for prospective parents new to Reception and Nursery in 2020. This evening will be on Wednesday 4th December 6pm-7.30pm. There will be a talk by myself and Miss Garnett at 6.30pm and then an opportunity to talk to both Nursery and Reception teachers and have a look at both of our settings. Please pass on this information to any parents who have children not yet attending our school.

Christmas Meal

We will be having our annual Christmas dinner on Monday 16th December. Orders for this need to be placed and paid for before 6th December to enable the cook to order the correct amount of food.
